LG Farm (Pvt) Ltd was founded as a small back-yard poultry operation, and then known as LG Farm Shop, in Higurakgoda, way back in 1998 by its incumbent Managing Director Mr Thilak Samansiri.

Through the sheer commitment and hard work by the owners and the dedicated staff, the business soon immerged as a major broiler chicken production, processing and marketing company in the region. As a result, in 2009 the business was shifted to a new location in CP Pura, Minneriya where the new office and factory complexis located. In view of rapid expansion of its operations, in March 2011, LG Farm (Pvt) Ltd was formed with Mr L.G. Thilak Smansiri and his wife, Mrs Jasintha Mohottiarachchi functioning as directors of the new company. Thereafter, new staff was hired with required skills and qualifications to take care of the increasing responsibilities of the day to day operations under the guidance of the directors.Currently there are more than 150 employees attached to the company in various capacities.

Experience and capacity of the managerial staff to handle the project

The management team of LG Farm (Pvt) ltd is comprised of the Managing Director, Director, General Manager, Accountant and production Manager. A qualified and experienced Sales Manager is expected to join the team before the end of 2015 to take care of entire sales operation.

The management team is responsible for maintaining LG quality management system through customer focus, consultation culture and continuous improvement.

Managing Director

Mr Thilak Samansiri who provides leadership to the team has over 18 years experience in the broiler production and marketing business. He is very familiar with the trends associated with the industry with a particular reference to thisregion andis well connected to the industry leaders and pioneers in the country.

The Accountant

of the company possessing over 7 years’ experience in Accounting & Auditing sector. He has posses with degree for an Accountancy, Master degree for a Business Management & professional qualifications with ICASL.

General Manager

of the company is a qualified and experienced person possessing over 20 years extensive experience in various aspects of operations in breeder management, commercial broiler production, primary processing and marketing of poultry products. He has the capacity to apply all his local and overseas experience in contributing to the growth and profitability of the company. He is a Diploma holderin Agriculture Engineering and has successfully followed an Agriculture ITO level 3 course at the Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand.

Sales Manager

of LG Farm (Pvt) ltd, who has held many senior sales and marketing positions of leading FMG companies in the country has a wealth of experience behind him to lead the company’s sales force to success. His network of clients scattered around the country will surely help the company to open up new sales routes and new business.

The Production Manager

who oversees the entire processing, quality assurance and cold stores management too possess over 18 years in experience in the related field. He has previously had many successful careers with several leading poultry processors in Sri Lanka before taking up the current position.
